Addictions Support Discussion Group
November 20 @ 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm ESTFree
Addiction is a word that means something different to each and every person. Some have experienced addiction(s) first hand, while others may be family members, friends, supporters, carers and/or professionals on the sideline. Some have addictions to alcohol and/or drugs, while others have addictions to work, food, sports, gambling, gaming, technology, people, habits, emotions … an endless possible list.
- Many have tried to overcome an addiction, sometimes successfully and other times not.
- Many have tried to support another to overcome an addiction, with a rollercoaster or mix of seeming successes and sometimes not so.
We invite you to join these regular group discussions to openly explore, express and share in an open forum your experiences with addictions.
The group will be facilitated by a group of professionals from various fields, carers and everyday people who represent the College of Universal Medicine. Each facilitator has an interest in exploring and understanding the underlying causes of addiction with a view of discussing with the group how it may be possible to bring about a true healing for all involved. We understand that Addiction can be a sensitive topic for many; thus this group will come together in the knowing that connection, decency, respect, consideration, understanding and acceptance will form our foundation. It is through a combined effort based on these principles as well as self care and appreciation that a way is possible.
Bring your own means of hydration. Car pooling where possible would be greatly appreciated.
